Report a Safeguarding Concern

All adults in the group, if aware of a safeguarding concern, must report it direct to the Scout Association’s HQ Safeguarding Team within 24 hours. Every person aware of the concern must make their own separate report.

  • You must protect the reporting form with a secure password before you save it (instructions for Microsoft Word)
  • A good password for this purpose is a few random words – write them down straight away
  • You can find your membership number (needed in the form) in Compass
  • Leaders can access young people’s details in OSM
  • You must email the form to HQ from your 2nd Acomb account, NOT a personal email account
  • Once you have sent the form, provide the password by phone to the Safeguarding team within working hours
  • Securely destroy any paper notes you have made as soon as you no longer need them
  • If you need additional support, contact the GSL
